Lakeside, CA (September 25, 2006) – After ten days of qualifying and 22,761 shots, the 2006 Barona $1 Million Hole-in-One Shootout – A Pacific Life Holiday Bowl Production – concluded today with the finals at Barona Creek Golf Club. Twelve golfers qualified for the contest finale by winning one of ten qualifying days, or hitting a hole-in-one at Stadium Golf Center in Mission Valley September 11-15 and 18-22. By landing a shot thirty-four feet, ten inches from the hole, Mike Ebel of San Diego took home the first-place prize of a seven-night Mexican Riviera or Caribbean cruise courtesy of Princess Cruise Lines and Carefree Vacations. If Ebel or any of the other twelve shootout participants had hit a hole-in-one, they would have won $1 million. San Diego resident, Frank Christian, finished in second place by stopping his ball fifty feet, three inches short of the pin. Robert Welsh came in third place. The revenue generated by the Barona $1 Million Hole-in-One Shootout supports the non-profit Pacific Life Holiday Bowl. Top Three Final Shootout Finishers 1. Mike Ebel – 34’10” 2.
