After ten days of qualifying and 24,673 shots, the 2007 Barona $1 Million Hole-in-One Shootout – A Pacific Life Holiday Bowl Production – concluded today with the finals at Barona Creek Golf Club. Ten golfers qualified for the contest finale by winning one of ten qualifying days, or hitting a hole-in-one at Stadium Golf Center in Mission Valley, September 10-14 and 17-21.
By landing a shot nine feet, five and one-half inches from the hole, Mike Hazelton of San Diego took home the first-place prize of a two night stay at Morgan Run Resort with golf and brunch as well as a $300 gift certificate to Donovan’s Steak & Chop House. All ten finalists won round-trip airfare on ExpressJet. If Hazelton or any of the other nine shootout participants had hit a hole-in-one, they would have won $1 million.
San Diego resident Mike Sheehan finished in second place by stopping his ball seventeen feet, eight inches short of the pin. Mike Ebel came in third place.
The revenue generated by the Barona $1 Million Hole-in-One Shootout supports the non-profit Pacific Life Holiday Bowl.
