In a surprise presentation today, Pacific Life Holiday Bowl
officials announced that a fourth-grader from Calavera Hills Elementary School
in Carlsbad was declared the winner of the 2008 San Diego County Credit Union
Family Photo Contest.The student as well
as his class won a number of prizes.
Matthew Kraszulyak will have the honor of having his
“Yosemite” themed family photo turned into a professionally built float and
entered in the Port of San Diego Big Bay Balloon Parade. This Pacific Life
Holiday Bowl production will march along Harbor Drive in downtown San Diego at
9 a.m., Monday, December 29. The event will air nationally on Friday, January
2, 2009 on the USA Network.
Matthew received a prize package that included a gift
package from The World-Famous San Diego Zoo, four tickets to the Pacific Life
Holiday Bowl, a $25 Corvette Diner gift certificate courtesy of San Diego
Family Magazine, and the privilege of riding on the float with his family in
the parade.
Matt’s entire class also received grandstand tickets to the
parade and tickets to the San Diego Zoo. Additionally, Calavera Hills received
$1,000 in computer equipment from Technology Integration Group.
The San Diego County Credit Union Family Photo Contest was
made available to all San Diego County children in grades K-6 through the North
County Times and San Diego Family Magazine. Hundreds of entries were submitted.
