'Hoops at the Beach Champions' Claim Hoops at the Beach Title

While sitting in tournament headquarters last week and entering his team in the 22nd annual Jack in the Box® “Hoops at the Beach” 3-on-3 Tournament, Nemo Mitchell was pressed for a team name. Upon learning the event’s moniker, “Hoops at the Beach,” he confidently selected “Hoops at the Beach Champions”. His confidence turned out to be prophetic.
Mitchell’s squad edged Team Boss 20-18 in an exciting Elite Division final to win the San Diego County Championship. Congratulations to Mitchell and his teammates Marty Elise, Davion Brown and Cortney Williams on an impressive run through the tournament’s toughest bracket.
In the tournament finale Sunday, a crowd circled center court to watch the Boys 7th/8th grade division final. Team SoCal fought fatigue and a tough opponent in the Power Rangers to earn the division championship.
The Jack in the Box ® “Hoops at the Beach” 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is a fund-raising activity for the non-profit Pacific Life Holiday Bowl.
