Game dates for the 2009 Pacific Life Holiday Bowl and San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl were made official today.
The 32nd annual Pacific Life Holiday Bowl kicks off at 5 p.m. PST on Wednesday, December 30th at Qualcomm Stadium. The game will air nationally on ESPN for the 23rd straight year, and feature the runner-up from the Pacific-10 Conference against the third selection from the Big 12 Conference. The 2008 Pacific Life Holiday Bowl saw the Oregon Ducks defeat the Oklahoma State Cowboys 42-31 in front of 59,106 fans. The game received a 4.6 television rating on the all sports network.
The 5th annual San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl kicks off at 5 p.m. PST on Wednesday, December 23rd, also at Qualcomm Stadium. The bowl will air on ESPN and pit the second selection from the Mountain West Conference against the sixth place team from the Pacific-10 Conference. Last year’s game featured a 17-16 TCU Horned Frogs victory over the Boise State Broncos in front of 34,628 fans. The game garnered a 3.74 rating on ESPN.
