The scenic, bayside streets of downtown San Diego will come alive with the 2012 Port of San Diego Big Bay Balloon Parade, presented by San Diego County Credit Union - a Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl Production.

As always, this exciting family event brings together world-class marching bands, magnificent floats, entertaining drill teams, and a procession of enormous balloons-more than any other parade! Over 100,000 street-side spectators will enjoy the parade along with a nationwide television audience. Click here to view the Parade Route.

Parade festivities will begin in the television area with the finals of the 16th annual Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals and the Bumble Bee Foods 5K. After the parade, activity will continue on Broadway Pier with games, entertainment at the annual Family Festival, sponsored by Amtrak. Click here for more on the Family Festival.

The parade telecast is produced by Cox Communications and can be seen locally on Channel 4 San Diego. The parade will also be televised nationally.

Specialty Units
The parade is always looking for new and innovative entries. Along with the balloons and other entries, the unique specialty units allow this Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl event to thrill over 100,000 spectators along the waterfront on Harbor Drive in beautiful downtown San Diego. Entries will be judged on originality, uniqueness and entertainment value. The Parade's Entry Review Committee will review all entries and their decision is final.

Parking
Reserved disabled parking will be available to parade attendees by the ConVis International Visitor Center, located at the corner of Harbor Drive and Broadway. Please be advised that Harbor Drive will be closed at 7:45 a.m. and the San Diego Police Department will be checking for proper placards. No cars will be allowed on Harbor Drive after 8:30 a.m. so please arrive early.

Cost:
            Registration (Through December 14)...................................... $15.00*
            Registration (Starting December 15)......................... $20.00*
                  *A $2.00/event processing fee will be assessed to your order.

If sitting on your lap, children 3 & under do not need a ticket.  

**NOTE: All orders placed after December 14th will not be mailed. If you placed your order after December 14th, then your tickets will be held for you at event Will Call, and made available for pickup on event-day. You are also welcome to pick up your tickets at the Bowl offices at Qualcomm Stadium Monday-Friday between 8:30am-5:00pm on any day before the event.

 

There is no assigned seating in the grandstands. A ticket guarantees you a seat, and the seats are first-come, first-served.
