The
12th annual Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals kicks off in San Diego on
September 6th, at Qualcomm Stadium. The top eight dogs from the
qualifying round will advance to the San Diego final. The winner of the
San Diego finals will advance and join the winning dogs from all around
the Western U.S. at the Port of San Diego Big Bay Balloon Parade
presented by the San Diego County Credit Union.
This year's finalists will receive the opportunity to march with the Wienerschnitzel float in the nationally televised parade.
Any
Dachshund may participate. There is a $5 entry fee per racing dog and
the entry fee includes one owner t-shirt (guaranteed for pre-registered
dogs only).

Vendor Opportunities
The
Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals accept vendors with animal related
causes and products. In order to view the races, all dogs and their
owners must walk through vendor village. This year’s event is expected
to draw more than 300 dachshunds and their owners from all around
Southern California. Races are free for rescue dogs. No human food
vendors please.
About the Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals
The
Wiener Nationals are the United States’ national dachshund racing
championships sponsored by Wienerschnitzel. Regional qualifiers are
held in the Southwestern United States in California (Los Angeles, San
Diego and Sacramento), Texas (El Paseo), New Mexico (Albuquerque) and
Nevada (Reno and Las Vegas). The "winning wiener" will be given the
title “Fastest Dog in the West."
