The San Diego Bowl Game Association’s board of directors has
elected Lawrence P. Baber president of the 2008 Pacific Life Holiday Bowl and
San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.
The Pacific Life Holiday Bowl announced today that a record
payout was distributed to the teams that participated in the December 27, 2007
football game at Qualcomm Stadium.
The Texas Longhorns withstood four fumbles by their quarterback and a
bizarre play to win the 30th annual Pacific Life Holiday Bowl as they
defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils 52-34 in front of 64,020 fans at
Qualcomm Stadium.
Phil McConkey, the Most Valuable Offensive Player of the inaugural
Holiday Bowl in 1978, will serve as Honorary Chairman of the 2007
Pacific Life Holiday Bowl.
Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta), a
leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies,
announced it has agreed to become the new title sponsor of the annual
EndZoner’s Tailgate Party.
The Pacific Life Holiday Bowl named former San
Diego Padres pitcher, Randy Jones, Grand Marshal of the Port of San Diego Big
Bay Balloon Parade presented by San Diego County Credit Union.
In a surprise presentation, Pacific Life Holiday Bowl
officials announced that a fifth-grader from Flying Hills Elementary School in
El Cajon was declared the winner of the 2007 San Diego County Credit Union
Float Design Contest.
