Game Date Set for 2011 Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl

Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl officials announced today that the 34th annual game will kick off at 6 p.m. PST on Wednesday, December 28th at Qualcomm Stadium. The bowl will air nationally on ESPN for the 26th straight year and match teams from the Pac-12 and Big 12 Conferences.

Last year’s game featured a 19-7 Washington Huskies victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers in front of 57,921 fans. The game garnered a 4.0 national television rating on the all-sports network.

The 2011 date for San Diego’s pre-Christmas bowl game, the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl, has already been announced. It will kick off at Qualcomm Stadium at 5 p.m. PST on Wednesday, December 21st.
