Pacific Life Extends Sponsorship with Holiday Bowl

Pacific Life Insurance Company has agreed to extend their title sponsorship of the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl, 2005 Bowl President Stephen P. Cushman announced today. The extension is for sponsorship of the 2006 contest, and includes an option for Pacific Life to sponsor the event through 2009. Financial terms were not disclosed. Pacific Life has sponsored the bowl game since 2002. The current agreement expires after the 2005 game.

“The Pacific Life Holiday Bowl consistently outperforms other ESPN bowl games in ratings and is virtually assured a marquee match-up year after year,” said Bob Haskell, Pacific Life’s senior vice president of Public Affairs. “The bowl game provides Pacific Life a great opportunity to build and leverage our brand message of persistence, performance, and strength by featuring our company’s symbol, the humpback whale.”

The 2005 Pacific Life Holiday Bowl kicks off Thursday, December 29 at 5 p.m. and features the runner-up from the Pac-10 Conference against the third selection from the Big 12 Conference.

The Pacific Life Holiday Bowl was established in 1978 and is a non-profit organization whose mission is to generate tourism, exposure, economic benefit and civic pride for San Diego and its citizens by producing the nation’s most exciting bowl game and festival of events.
