*GAME-DAY PARKING ADVISORY*
With only 14,000 spaces for 66,000 seats at Qualcomm Stadium, the stadium parking lot is expected to be full two hours before game time. If you are planning on driving to the stadium, we strongly urge you to carpool with four people or more and to arrive two or three hours before game time. The Qualcomm Stadium parking lot opens four hours prior to kickoff on Poinsettia Bowl game day.

Overflow Parking Areas

Interstate 15 to Friars Rd is the most congested traffic artery into Qualcomm Stadium and can expect heavy traffic and major delays. We strongly urge fans to arrive early, carpool or use the San Diego Trolley. The stadium parking lot can be expected to close almost two hours prior to kickoff during events with capacity crowds. Stadium Parking

$20 for cars and $60 for RVs
If you decide to drive, plan to come early as the parking lot surrounding the stadium fills quickly due to the numerous tailgate parties and the halftime show fireworks. The city of San Diego controls the stadium parking lot and parking fees for the bowl games are $20 for cars and $60 for RVs (vehicles 20’ and over). You must tailgate only in your designated parking space. Because of limited total space, fans are encouraged to carpool, use the San Diego Trolley or bus transportation.

VIP Preferred Parking $60
A limited number of VIP parking passes are available for $60 each. VIP parking includes a space in the secure, fenced-in C1/D1 lot, just inside the main gates of the stadium. You have a guaranteed spot in this lot, no matter what time you plan to arrive, along with a dedicated in and out lane for easy access and egress from the stadium. Supplies are limited, so order yours today by calling the bowl office at (619)-283-5808.

Purchase Deadline
If you are planning on having your parking pass mailed, you must purchase the pass by December 17. If you wish to purchase a pass after December 17, you will need to come to the bowl office and buy it in person prior to game day. Parking passes will not be available for purchase on game day.

The Big Flag

Big FlagThe Holiday Bowl Big Flag is one of the largest ceremonial American Flags in the United States that is regularly used in conjunction with large public sporting events. The Big Flag adds a dynamic quality to a pre-event or halftime show and has been presented at the Super Bowl, World Series and numerous NFL, NCAA and MLB events.

The Big Flag is 100 by 50 yards (45,000 sq. feet) and covers one entire football field when fully deployed. When presented at baseball games it covers most of the outfield. The Big Flag is made of lightweight nylon and weighs approximately 850 pounds. A minimum of 250 people is required for a presentation. The Big Flag event producer works closely with your staff and television personnel to insure the presentation ceremony conforms to all event requirements.

The Big Flag is available on a fee plus expenses contract with the Holiday Bowl. This contract includes all shipping, staff transportation and travel, training and coordination required, and on-field supervision of the presentation. Total cost will vary depending on distance from San Diego but is generally from $4,000 for a Southern California event to $8,000 on the east coast. The contracting or sponsoring organization is responsible for providing the personnel required for the presentation. Military units or organizations are highly recommended. If requested, the Big Flag staff will assist the sponsor in identifying and coordinating with local military commands.

Pre-presentation practice (required) is 2-3 hours. Preparation time on the day of the presentation is 1.5 hours. For more information on scheduling the Holiday Bowl Big Flag call the bowl office at (619) 283-5808.
