San Diego County Credit Union has extended its title sponsorship of the San Diego Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl, 2007 Bowl President Rudy Castruita announced today. The extension is for sponsorship through the 2009 contest. Financial terms were not disclosed. San Diego County Credit Union served as title sponsor for each of the games first two contests.
We are so grateful to San Diego County Credit Union for their ongoing support of this very important, non-profit community event, said Castruita. Their investment makes it possible for the bowl game to provide our region with a tremendous economic boost during the holiday season.

Last years game featured a 37-7 TCU Horned Frogs victory over the Northern Illinois Huskies in front of 29,709 fans at San Diegos Qualcomm Stadium.
The San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl was established in 2005 and is produced by the non-profit San Diego Bowl Game Association. The mission of the Association is to generate tourism, exposure, economic benefit and civic pride for San Diego and its citizens by producing the nations most exciting bowl games and festivals of events. The San Diego Bowl Game Association also produces the annual Pacific Life Holiday Bowl.
The date and time for the 3 rd annual San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl has yet to be determined, though it is certain it will be played prior to the Christmas holiday. The game features the second selection from the Mountain West Conference against an at-large opponent.
