The Pacific Life Holiday Bowl has built a rich and colorful 31-year history with its reputation as “America’s Most Exciting Bowl Game” growing with each passing year. The Pacific Life Holiday Bowl has agreements in place with the Pac-10 and Big 12 that will keep some of the country’s top-rated football teams coming to San Diego through 2009.
Since the Holiday Bowl was inaugurated in 1978, it has played to more than 90% capacity. Of the 31 games, 17 had victory margins of one touchdown or less and the outcome of 19 games was decided in the final two minutes, earning the Holiday Bowl a well-deserved reputation as one of the more entertaining games on the post season schedule.The Pacific Life Holiday Bowl ranks 9th out of 33 bowl games in terms of team payout.
